Heartwood Darkest Before Dawn ABV 64%

Our Heartwood collection continues with Darkest before Dawn, bottled in Nov 2017 at ABV 64% cask strength. The whisky was distilled at Lark Distillery, Oloroso Sherry Cask, cask number LD559, but it has the Heartwood twist with sphagnum peat influence. This is a piece of Australian whisky history. 

Tasting notes from other reviews:

NOSE: big honey, black currents, straw berry ice cream, usual eucalyptus notes, hazelnuts, burning brandy over a Xmas pudding, old leather couch in the sun

PALATE: burnt honey, more strawberry ice cream, Xmas pudding with cream

FINISH: long, oily, slightly burnt coffee, lasting sugar, little bit of lime agin right in the back of the finish
